Introduction

The Center for General Education was established in November, 2001. This center plans, promotes, and offers courses for general education. The primary goal is to develop students’ soft skills and transferable abilities, which are key to success in the modern fast-changing world. Core issues include environmental protection, global views, business ethics, life aesthetics, problem-solving skills, and effective communication. A broad range of required and elective courses have been offered, covering literature, philosophy, history, social science, art, and science, etc. Furthermore, this center also actively seeks closer cooperation with all the departments, with the intention of ensuring that our curriculum development is in line with the future development of National Taipei University of Business. It is hoped that students can integrate insights gained from courses for general education with core competencies acquired in their fields.
